The
Dodge Viper made its premiere as a prototype at
a car show in 1989. At the time, Dodge desperately
needed an image car that would boost its sales
in the United States. The Viper's primary goal
was a vehicle that concentrated on performance
above all else. Their benchmark: to go from 0
to 100 back to 0 in under 15 seconds.
The
Viper was released in 1992 and has won accolades
from business people, dealers, competitors, and
car-lovers alike. It's about instantaneous torque
and good-ol' North American power. It laughed
at the Japanese 300hp "supercars" (300ZX, Supra
Turbo, 3000GT VR-4) and became the new icon for
America's Sports Car (over the Corvette). In other
words, it has exceeded expectations. Today, the
Viper is as strong as ever: RT/10, GTS, GTS-R.
The
Dodge Viper is very well-crafted and is hand-assembled
at a special Detroit, Michigan facility on Conner
Avenue by carefully chosen, skilled UAW workers
with over 300 hours of training each. Viper ownership
moves you up to a singular driving experience.
But you'll also join a school of thought that
promotes both intellectual and social mastery
of this exceptional machine.
