The Kawasaki ZX-6R is a 600cc Kawasaki "Supersport"
motorcycle. The ZX-6R was introduced in 1995, and
refined versions were released in 1998 and 2000
in response to new products from Honda and Yamaha.
Yet newer versions were released again in 2001,
which included a 636cc variant for Europe and Australia.
In 2003, a major redesign and an all new 636cc engine
saw the ZX-6R take firm stand against its other
Japanese rivals. A 600cc version called the ZX-6RR
was also produced to conform to Supersport racing
rules. In 2005, Kawasaki again revamped the ZX-6R
with new styling such as an undertail exhaust and
unprecedented power output.
In
2001, the ZX-6R won an amazing three separate
racing championships, including the AMA Supersport
title, AMA ProStar title, and FIM Supersport title.
The ZX6R won the coveted 'Masterbike' award for
the Supersport category in both 2004 and 2005.
