The
Land Cruiser is the best selling Suv in Toyata's
lot. It has a powerful V8 engine build, and a
luxurious interior cabin. However, this car is
more expensive then it has to be and you pay through
the teeth for quality and capability. The irony
is that Toyota's Sequoia is bigger yet less expensive.
And some of the people I've spoken to, say that
car is also more reliable and the gas mileage
is about the same.
It's
power comes from an 4.7-liter 230 horsepower engine
with 320 pound-feet of torque. This engine is
based on an earlier Lexus engine and it offers
the Land Cruiser an edge in power delivery, quietness
and fuel economy. It has great acceleration and
passing maneuvers are easy. ABS is standard, as
is the Vehicle Skid Control and Active Trac system.
But with a price range starting over $50,000 this
car is not cheap and in my opinion not worth the
money.
On
the positive side, if you do decide to buy the
Land Cruiser it does do a good job at retaining
its value. Like most Toyotas, the Land Cruiser
has held its value well in the used car market.
