A
market research program undertaken by American
Motor Corporation, the Jeep brand owner at the
time, culminated in the birth of the modern Cherokee.
Jeep Cherokee is fast on highways and that's the
only place it gets somewhat decent gas mileage.
It is one of the original sport utility vehicles
to gain acceptance into the north american market
in the mid-eighties.
Altough this car's 4x4 option allows
you to clear all of those treacherous potholes
in downtown Detroit it isn't needed in most of
America. Because of it's high ground clearance
this car handles badly on turns and stops. Otherwise
it is superior in craftsmenship to other cars
in it's class.
The
interior space in this car is great, almost as
good as a minivan. For some models cargo can not
be laid flat because the spare tire is awkwardly
placed. Radio controls are on the steering wheel
and so is the cruise control. You can customize
the automatic door and window settings so that
you as the driver can have complete control. For
people thinking of getting a used minivan, we
definately recommend that you stick with this
vehicle instead.
Today,
the latest version of the Cherokee combines over
50 years of engineering and technological excellence
with the classic styling and practicality of a
Jeep vehicle. Be sure to check out all the refinements
to this American icon: an all-new interior, dual
air-bags, and UniFrame construction.
